I watch the raindrops fall from my window
Racing down to meet the balcony
streetlights kiss as my eyes start to miss the daylight
unwashed pots fill the worktops
driving me to insanity
tv blares as the neighbours upstairs start their fistfight
The wheel it spins, the night begins
I’ll still be here again tomorrow
We work in shifts, we sing in fifths
I’ll still be here again tomorrow
The music plays, the song delays
Is there any other way than to spend the nights alone?
Time will pass the sun won’t last
It will burn out before I’m done
I’ll still be here I’ll still be here
Forever I won’t go
I’ll stay in this apartment block until I’m skin and bone
I’ll watch the seasons come and go and I’ll never see a face
I’ll never leave a letter, I’ll never leave a trace
There is poetry and harmony in this epiphany that’s grown
I’ll romanticise my demons till their love for me has shown
I’ll watch the raindrops fall and they’ll never watch me leave
They’ll just keep coming back to spite the lonely sight they see
They’ll never watch me answer for the doorbell when it rings
They’ll only hear me listen to the morning song that sings
I’ll watch the raindrops fall and they’ll never watch me leave
They’ll never watch me cry, they’ll never watch me grieve
I’ll never leave I’ll never leave this room is where I’m called
I’ll never meet the strangers in the stairways in the halls
I’ll never leave I’ll never leave this room where I’m called
